Driving Directions to the Point Way

From the Vineyard Haven Ferry Terminal

  1. Follow the traffic off the Steamship Authority property
  2. Turn left onto the public road.
  3. Go 100 yards to a stop sign at a 5-corner intersection.
  4. Ignore the sign to turn left to Edgartown. That route takes you through Oak Bluffs and is a more complicated route
  5. Turn right instead and proceed 0.3 miles up hill and turn left at sign for Oak Bluffs and Edgartown. This road is creatively called the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Rd.
  6. Proceed 6.4 miles to the "Triangle" stop sign and continue straight on Upper Main St.
  7. Continue past shops (A&P on left) and past Mobil station, proceeding straight at a fork in road and following sign for "Edgartown Ctr"
  8. Take the third right (start counting at the intersection at the end of a small park on your right), which should be about 7.0 miles from your turn onto Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Rd. This is Pease's Point Way. The road sign is partially hidden, but a landmark is a large flagpole on the right side of the intersection.
  9. After turning right onto Pease's Point Way, take an immediate left onto a small road called Pent Lane. The PWI sign is at the corner of our property at that intersection. Our parking lot is on the left side of Pent Lane. The entrance to our garden is marked at the top of the portico.

From the Oak Bluffs Ferry Terminal

  1. Follow traffic off Steamship Authority dock and proceed straight through intersection. (Most of the time, you cannot turn left at that intersection and will be directed by a police officer to go straight. If there is no one to prevent you from turning left at that first intersection, go for it and skip to Step 3 below.
  2. If directed to go straight, proceed to the first intersection where you can turn left and do so. Continue turning left (basically reversing your direction) rather than crossing the oncoming traffic and going up Circuit Avenue. Go back towards the water and turn right when road ends.
  3. Proceed along the water for 4.7 miles to the "Triangle" intersection with the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Rd. (there is no stop sign coming from the direction of Oak Bluffs), continue straight on Upper Main St. past shops (A&P on left) and past a Mobil Station and go straight at a fork in road and following sign for "Edgartown Ctr." You are now on Main Street.
  4. Take the third right (start counting at the intersection at the end of a small park on your right), which is about 0.7 miles from the Triangle intersection. This is Pease's Point Way. The road sign is partially hidden, but a landmark is a large flagpole on the right side of the intersection.
  5. After turning right onto Pease's Point Way, take an immediate left onto a small road called Pent Lane. The PWI sign is at the corner of that intersection. Our parking lot is on the left side of our property at Pent Lane. The entrance to our garden is marked at the top of the portico.

From the Martha's Vineyard Airport

  1. If you are renting a car at the airport, proceed out the Airport exit (0.3 miles) and turn left at the stop sign at the end of that road. This is the Edgartown-West Tisbury Road.
  2. Proceed 4.7 miles until road ends at Main Street in Edgartown and turn right onto Main Street.
  3. Take second right turn. This is Pease's Point Way. The road sign is partially hidden, but a landmark is a large flagpole on the right side of the intersection.
  4. After turning right onto Pease's Point Way, take an immediate left onto Pent Lane. The PWI sign is at the corner of our property at that intersection. Our parking lot is on the left side of Pent Lane. The entrance to our garden is marked at the top of the portico.
